Before you fly
Things every Filipino traveler should know about Turkey.
Gulf work visa does not qualify
OFWs in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Hong Kong cannot use a work visa for the Turkey eVisa. Only Schengen, US, UK, and Ireland visas and residence permits qualify. Plan a sticker visa from the Turkish consulate instead.
Halal default, pork is rare
Almost all restaurants serve halal. Lechon, sinigang, and tocino-style pork dishes are mostly limited to Beyoglu in Istanbul and Western tourist resorts. Plan to enjoy Turkish kebab, pide, and seafood as your protein.
Carry USD, not PHP
Philippine pesos cannot be exchanged in Turkey. Bring USD cash for bazaars and small shops. Filipino Visa and Mastercard work at ATMs, expect a 2 to 3 percent foreign transaction fee.
5 hours behind Manila
Turkey is 5 hours behind Philippine Standard Time. Eastbound jet lag is moderate. Best months: April to June and September to November, avoiding Filipino rainy season and Turkish winter.
Questions, answered
Turkey eVisa FAQ for Filipino travelers.
Yes. Filipino passport holders are eligible for the Turkey eVisa only if they hold a valid Schengen, US, UK, or Ireland visa or residence permit at the time of travel. Without one of these supporting documents, you must apply for a sticker visa at a Turkish consulate.
No. UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Hong Kong work or residence visas do not qualify for the Turkey eVisa. Only Schengen (any of 27 countries), US, UK, and Ireland visas or residence permits are accepted. Filipino OFWs in the Gulf need to apply for a Turkish sticker visa from the local consulate.
Yes. Italian Permesso di Soggiorno (PSE), Spanish Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero (TIE), UK Indefinite Leave to Remain, Ireland Stamp 4, US Green Card, and any Schengen long-stay visa or residence permit are all accepted. Most Filipino Turkey eVisa applicants apply from Italy, Spain, or the UK on these permits.
Yes. Every traveler, including infants and minors, needs an individual eVisa linked to their own Filipino passport. Each child must also independently hold a valid Schengen, US, UK, or Ireland visa or residence permit on their own passport, or be the dependent on a qualifying visa, depending on the issuing country's rules.
Single entry only. Filipino passport holders receive a 180 days validity window from the date of issue, within which they can enter Turkey once and stay up to 30 days. To re-enter, a new eVisa is required.
Not on the eVisa. The 30 days limit per entry is fixed. To stay longer you must exit Turkey and apply for a different visa class (such as a longer-term tourist visa or a residence permit) from a Turkish consulate. Overstaying triggers fines and a future entry ban.
Three processing speeds are available. Express is the fastest. Most Filipino applications are approved within 24 business hours, regardless of the speed selected.
From USD 120 all-inclusive. Standard USD 120, Priority USD 149, Express USD 179. All government fees, document review, support, and tracking included. Pricing is in USD only. Filipino cards are accepted, your bank converts PHP to USD at the prevailing rate.
There is no nonstop Manila to Istanbul flight. Common routings: Turkish Airlines via Bangkok or Singapore, Qatar Airways via Doha, Emirates via Dubai, Etihad via Abu Dhabi. Total travel time 17 to 20 hours. Many European-based Filipino OFWs fly from Rome, Milan, or Madrid (3 to 4 hour nonstops to Istanbul).
Almost every restaurant in Turkey is halal by default. Pork dishes (lechon, sinigang, tocino) are rare and mostly confined to specific Christian or secular venues in Beyoglu (Istanbul) and tourist resort areas. Plan to enjoy Turkish kebabs, pide, and seafood as your meat options. Vegetarian and seafood Filipino travelers are well-served.
Yes. The standard 30-day eVisa covers Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, the House of Mary in Ephesus, St. Nicholas Church in Demre (the original Santa Claus), Cappadocia's rock-cut churches, and the Cave Church of St. Peter in Antakya. Filipino Catholic pilgrim groups commonly do 10 to 14 day heritage trails.
Your supporting visa or residence permit must be valid at the time of your entry into Turkey. If it expires while you are inside Turkey, you can complete your stay and exit normally, but you cannot re-enter Turkey on the same eVisa, and your next Turkey eVisa application will require a fresh qualifying document.
